Tsengue Tsengue, from Congo-Brazzaville, is an engineer from Ecole Centrale de Paris with a great deal of experience in the manufacturing of industrial equipment. With his team, he developed a few years ago a tidal turbine that generates about 15 kilowatts and that was entirely conceived of and manufactured in Congo-Brazzaville.

The above power-generating station has two turbines that rest on a floating platform. The turbines get partially immersed when they continuously rotate about their axis, due to the kinetic energy of the river. Thus, the current of the river greatly determines the power generated by the tidal turbine.

This other model has one turbine and one water floater on each side and is easily portable.
