Nigerian Jerry I. Mallo has designed and manufactured the Bennie Purrie which is a Carbon Fiber Sports Car prototype made in Nigeria. He is 25 years old (born in 1994) and is also the engineer and CEO of Bennie Technologies LTD.

This sports car was dubbed “Bennie Purrie” and is made of fibers which have the advantage of breaking like glass or bottles in case of a car crash, while the airbags protect the individuals inside. This car is also made with tubular chassis to make it strong enough to withstand Nigerian roads. This is why it is designed to adapt to the local environment.

The car has a cooling system made of four (4) radiators and is equipped with a 2.0 liter engine producing 130 horsepower. Thus, speed-wise, it takes 12 seconds to go from 0 to 120 km/h. Not bad for someone who has never manufactured a car in his life.

This car is not perfect because there is still room for lots of improvements like the finishing, speed, etc. This is essentially due to lack of adequate facilities and equipment. It’s actually a real feat to see young talents like Jerry Mallo succeeding in conceptualizing, and then materializing their ideas.
