Emeka Nelson, from Nigeria, is a self-taught engineer who has designed and manufactured the prototype of an electric generator that runs on water. He has been working on this project for the past 16 years and has kept on improving it. Thus he started working on the water-powered generator when he was about 10 years old. Aged 26 now, it is undoubtedly a feat for someone who had difficulties reading in elementary school, and whose first prototype actually … exploded.
Undeterred, despite the fact that he does not have a university degree in science, he kept on thinking out of the box to achieve his goal. He decided to take up the challenge and sourced most of his materials from junk yards.

His prototype has a control panel, a casing (a gas cylinder), a water tank (reservoir) that feeds the casing and a pumping system. Actually, Nelson was able to use a DC generator to pressurize water so as to drive a turbine located inside the casing at 860 rpm (revolutions per minute). It is, therefore, hot water that turns the turbine inside the casing.
The generator is first of all ignited by a 12 volt battery. When the generator is on, another system recharges the battery. This generator has a maximum output capacity of 1000 Watts, while voltage fluctuates between 220-240 volts with zero (0) gas emissions. The Nigerian institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers has confirmed this point. It has also been proven that the prototype can power an entire room, as well as different household appliances.
One of the other main characteristics of this amazing generator is that it can run for six (6) hours with one (1) liter of water. So far, until further improvements are made, the machine must cool off after six hours. Yet the water is not going to be exhausted, he says.
